    Strange algea on pond wall.

Hi everybody . Im after some help ive had a koi pond for over 25 years. This year i have a strange jelly like substance on the walls of the pond . I can pick lumps of it off and ive never seen anything like it. Its almost black in colour .
I used aquatic virkon dosed at 2 tablets for 2400 uk gallons for 2 weeks. It seems like this stuff has come off in lumps but still loads on the walls .
Pond has had no medication or treatment for the last 2 weeks as ive been away .
Im trying a 4hr potassium treatment today as i did have a koi with 1 or 2 flukes.
Im not after advice for flukes but would love to know if anybody has seen this algea and how they cleared it.

    TIA

    Ian

It will be a cyanobacteria of some sort. A good virkon or a blanket weed treatment would work, but manual removal as best as possible, if applicable, will give you the best start, before the treatments.
3070 Gallons. 4" Bottom Drain and Skimmer. Draco Solum 16 Drum. Anoxic Filtration. Air lift returns.
