    To be honest I think a 4 to 6 ins slab is not enough.

    I am not a builder but there will be a lot of water pressure in there,my base was 9 ins,to be sure.
    You will only do that bit once and if wrong you are in the #hit.

    So, a bottom drain is right in with the build and easy enough to do.
