New pond almost finished
Hi all I’m finally converting to gravity from a pump fed system of 12 years!
so looking forward to not cleaning brushes and jap matting every Saturday !
no more clogged pumps and mess to drag out bottom!
any advice would be great on anything I should have on shopping list for new set up.( treatments etc)
also I’ve no space to quarantine new arrivals so was thinking of a dip/ treatment in show tank prior to pond .
was thinking of salt or pp? Is there anything safer, better?

I bet you'll be well pleased at the difference! as for the dip, I am not sure. Maybe take scrapes or ask the dealer to before adding fish to try and figure out if the fish is carrying anything?

True
True I will probably have a much safer water without all the mess sat on bottom!

I'd suggest an aerated bottom drain. You don't have to have the air on all the time, but it's good to have built for when it's needed.
I'd also suggest installing a skimmer if you don't have one.
Have you thought about installing a purge valve between your bottom drain and your filters? They are really handy for keeping your bottom drain pipework clear by occasionally opening the ball valve and dumping some water to waste to give it all a flush through.
