Don't see any harm is using pipe and cutting off then glassing inside. Save some money as well there is a thread about returns going on now and a think bazza has done that but don't hold me to it might have person mixed up

I only put that link up to show the returns. Never had to look for them being pump Fed and I'll just be using a 110mm flanged tank connector this year as I have a liner

Yeah it was me that just cut them flush and fibreglassed them. I can't see the benefit of the fittings to angle the returns personally? I guess it might help if you've made a bit of a big hole for the pipe to come through, but I put all my pipes in place before I cast the concrete in the walls so they won't be budging!

I thought the idea of the angled pipe returns was to aid the circulation round the sides of the pond more? But as already mentioned you could do the same with a straight bit of pipe and cut the end at 45 degrees then mount it at the desired angle when building the walls.
