For The Record
I'm unashamedly ~ well, perhaps a little ashamedly? ~ only here to pick you peoples brains about Filters
That said; I've always wondered what exactly makes one koi worth a load of money, out of a possible shoal of, I dunno, variously coloured / patterned fish. I've seen posts, else where, where someone's happened to show a shot of their own pond. Someone else has commented: " Some nice fish in there, mate. "
And I'm like; 'Which ones are the Nice ones? They all look fine, to me. Which one is a show stopper?'
Maybe I'll stumble on a place, in here, to learn about the finer points of what ever you people see? That'd be cool. I'd genuinely like to get some insight
Now, off to the filtration section ...

Welcome to the forum!
Well I for one think that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Sure there are some aspects that satisfy the judges of the koi world, but for me, whilst I'd be happy to share pictures of my koi, they're for my benefit and if they make me happy that's all that matters!

Proper attitude, Bazza
I'm sure I've seen pictures of 'Gold Medal' koi before, and thought, " Why?! " Yet, some I've considered gorgeous, and no one else has even commented on.
Ironic: I'm the 'Family Tree' merchant of my family. I had a 'cousin', Eddie. His email was something like " EddieTheKoiMan@ ". Always too busy discussing dead rellies to actually ask him about the koi's.
Now, he's a dead rellie Be one myself, soon enough
