The main thing is wherever possible learn why we lost and adapt accordingly to prevent recurrence.

I've just lost one and as always its one of my favourites. No parasites water spot on all I can put it down to is a small scrape on its head so thinking its jumped and hit the cover bloody silly sausage of a fish

    Hi Slays

Interested to know how the fish got to the pump if you have the Easypod set up gravity fed as the fish would have to go through the wire mesh and K1 to get to the pump - if a fish went down my bottom drain he would be in the outer settlement area and probably wouldn't come to any harm as the bottom drain is 4 inch feed to a 3inch feed into the Eastpod?

4Ē bottom feed to Eazy then he flashed out of the outer area into the 3Ē Eazy outlet.... unfortunately because I got sent a free 2Ē ball valve I used a two inch pipe to the pump instead of a one & a half inch therefore he got sucked into the pump.... I only realised because there was K1 micro in the pond & the pump was making a funny noise!

Note: Eazy pods are a pretty shit design for the money... I could design one to better keep the K1 micro in & the waste outlet is in the wrong place... hundreds of pounds & the K1 micro can simple go under the mesh when boiling & why not a metal mess on top off the K1 micro!

    Hi Slays

Wow that fish was one hell of a Houdini - you did well to find him in the outlet pipe - if you hadn't found him he might have eventually rotted and been minced - this could have caused a break out of bacteria as I have heard of fish that got stuck in pond liner corners and then caused a bacterial outbreak - this is something else for us Easypod owners to keep our eyes open for

Was wondering myself how he got there and his back end damaged . . had to have been sucked in

    Rotting fish story . .

lost almost a full aquariums worth of Cichlid over a large Red jewel fish that died and was in a back cave far from the prying eye

water went tinged brownish colour, stunk so cleaned the filter, vacced substrate, water changes over several days, aquarium safe starts and conditioners added,

water tests were fine kept losing fish every day and nothing obviously wrong with them, gasping at the surface yet I had several airstones and surface agitated from water jets.

Finally started stripping the tank and his badly decomposed body floated out, rancid and stunk

day or so later all was fine water colour and smell returned to normal, fish swam well and no more gasping at surface
