    Post Greetings from Surrey

Hi everyone joined in the summer but have waited to introduce myself until i had something useful to share or say . I have a problem as my garden is surrounded by pine trees and the amount of pine needles / rubbish that falls from them is unbelievable and unfortunately my koi do try to swallow the pine needles and i was fed up trying to get these needles out of the pond and their mouth ( not easy at all ) and my skimmer could just not cope .
Andrew at Koi Water Garden recommended a company called Protective textiles ltd and they could not of been more helpful i have a raised pond with a roof and they suggested individual panels which roll up in the summer made of black pvc and see through windows of PVC in each panel , i am absolutely chuffed with the result and it helps a little in keeping the temperature up .
I have attached a couple of photos to show the result so if anyone else has this sort of problem this might be a solution .
    Reg
Hope this post is ok as not used a forum before and not much of a computer buff !
Also if anyone out there is from the Farnborough , Camberley area and fancies a beer and much koi talk feel free to get in touch as my mates are not into the hobby ( no wonder they aren't as happy as i am !! )

    Hi John
Here is the link to the company that did the work , mine was the first koi pond covers they had made so they put a photo on their website under recent projects .
    https://www.protectivetextile.co.uk/ 020 8974 1271 They are based in Chessington .
Ask for a chap called Chris Peach , really helpful guy with a vast knowledge of covers and materials .
You have a very attractive pond John as far as i can see from the small picture on your member information ( i am learning how to use this forum so i imagine we can enlarge these pictures somehow ) and if i drove all the way to North Wales it would definately be one of my most expensive pints !!

    Hi there,

i have just sent them a email for a price on my pond for these covers. Thanks very much for this. Anyway just a quick question, if you don’t mind. Is it just the windows or the whole side gets rolled up during spring and summer and part of autumn?

    Thanks very much

    Welcome Reggie.

No need to think of anything useful to say before posting on here. We are all happy to talk and read crap all day ha ha

Your Koi look brimming with health and good sizes too.

Love the cover, pretty unique as I've never seen anything like those before. Quite intrigued as to how exactly they work. How exactly are they attached, and do you just roll them up and clip/tie them when not in use?

Were they as expensive as they look?

Looks like your pergola isn't that high above the pond so they make a perfect solution for your set up.

    Hi There
All the side panels roll up and have clips to hold them up . My setup has eight separate panels and i can roll up a couple or all of them depending on the day . At the moment they stay down all the time as the weather is so windy / rainy !
Here is a photo i took for you showing one panel rolled up and clipped up , hope this helps

    HI RS2000
i wanted something that would last and look good and after a lot of research found this company . I dont like to spend more than i have to but i get so much enjoyment from my koi that to me its worth going that extra mile .
Each panel slides onto a rail you attach to the frame of the pergola i was surprised how easy it was .
Thanks for the comment on the koi RS makes standing in the freezing cold at 6.30am cleaning out the protein skimmer every morning worth it !!

Just got to my lads in Horsham, went up to Adam and Amanda Byers Koi Farm, absolutely brilliant set up, quality and size of the fish are some of the best I've seen, both lovely people as well with great knowledge, can't wait to go back in spring and purchase some fish.
