When is this Website going to be fixed?
These forum issues have been going on for Months now, malicious ads injected into the site, countless 508 (insufficient resource) errors, 503 errors, 504 time out errors, countless spambots using up bandwidth, and if you're really lucky you might actually get to the thread your clicking on, after a 2 minute wait.
These issues have now gone on too long and need fixing before the forum dies a final death.
I'd also like to ask why the page footer shows the site as running vbulletiin 4.23 which was superseded by 5.0 all the way back in 2012, and the latest version is 6.14. Surely this 13 year old version cannot be secure?
Please get it fixed.

I think it would be very hard to allocate more and more server resources if robots are consuming bandwidth.
Even if users paid more so additional resources were available, more robots could be deployed.
I've worked out there are times of the day it's not worth trying to post or visit this site.

Yes all very odd
Currently - 7 members and 12,848 guests
And it isn't too bad at the moment, it's as if the bandwidth is being throttled at times rather than the no. of guests??

Down to 2626 guests today and the site is working fine.
On the days where I'm forced to fill in a captcha before accessing the site I find it works much better. Maybe keeping this switched on would be an easy temporary fix while the bigger issues are being fixed, but ultimately even that will damage the site as I suspect it will stop being indexed for search results.

But... here is the thing, AI has changed the internet as we are realising the hard way. You no longer want robots and spiders scraping information from this site. Not only does this increase web traffic - slowing our members access, increasing host costs, consuming server resources, not only are they getting all the information without payment, contribution, thank you or acknowledgement, the AI search will display the queried answer without the researcher ever coming here, not making an account, not interecting or understanding context and background. Over time, less people join up. This place dies. Not an exaggeration, see what is happening to online discussion groups universally.
Robot searches actually need to be prevented. Sadly this instruction code would only be honoured by the well intentioned robot companies.

And it's most likely not as simple as that.
A crafty person could sign up as a member. have a URL on their profile signature or hidden with clear font colours on their posts.
Instruct a simple robot to click their hyperlink several hundreds of thousands of times per hour on each post. This improves their referral traffic rate, trust popularity, generates higher advertising revenue for them (referred web traffic hits), etc.
Very hard to prevent. Stopping one account, several more are generated (automatically - by robots).
Or more scary is malicious html code is written. Malware or virus or downloads occur through our web browsers just by viewing posts (no need to click on a link).
Maybe one solution is to go backwards with technology. Disable hyperlinks. Don't host photos or videos here. Text only discussions.

That sounds very interesting, but as soon as you said no photos, I think that would kill it for me, maybe it is my inner child or poor vision, but a photo of things so vibrant as Koi can not be described, let alone pests, buids etc... but I do know what you are saying. I myself have given up on google, I get much MUCH better results from Co-Pilot
