Thread: Pop up adverts driving me mad

I for one will be very interested to know how you stopped these pop up adds appearing all the time.

Day 2 after trying this having turned computer off overnight and then logged back into forum today and still no intrusive ads or popups.

This is what I did:

In chrome click the circle thing at the beginning of the address bar which brings up the following options. After toggling off the popups and downloads select Site Settings and go through the list and block everything you think could be related to ads:




Then scroll to the bottom of the forum page where you'll see this blue "Privacy and Cookie Settings" link:




That link opens a popup and at the bottom it has the option to "Manage Options"

Toggle everything to "Off" until you get to the bottom and then you'll see another option that says "Vendor Preferences", go through that (Long) list and again toggle everything to off all the way to the bottom, and then press "Confirm Choices".

After doing that all the intrusive ads stopped, and I suspect/hope they won't come back again until the next time I clear my browser history and cookies and the process will need to be repeated.
