They wouldn't last 2 minutes on our road with the dickheads we get trying to break the land speed record before the T junction and it's not even a busy road, it's a quiet cul de sac. Several cats have been killed and just left by the side of the road including one of our neighbour's. So far our 2 have been OK as they are a bit jumpy about anything they don't know.

    Bob for Rent

@RS2000 - may I please ask what Bob's rates are for Heron patrol and how quickly can you get him here?

Yesterday morning whist doing my params, I looked up from my breakfast table to see a very unwelcome visitor down the garden behind my shed...

Later that morning, after a number of fly-bys it was sat on my fence just behind my wishing well, doing a reccy...

This morning, I got up about 6.30am to open my bedroom doors for the sunrise, and was shocked as the little blighter took flight before my eyes. I think it had been actually standing on the planted wall by the pond. I therefore got back into bed with the doors open wide whilst I dozed off again. About 30 mins later, I opened my eyes and there it was, bold as brass, strolling around on the lower patio...

Grrrr! No point sending my two out to do guard duty, they'll just flop and roll at the first sign of trouble

I don’t get herons visit here any more. I think they must have meetings to pass on unfortunate experiences to each other.

A decade or so ago in my goldfish/wildlife pond I had fishing line heron defences around the pond and was woken up by one of my kids telling me there was an albatross caught in the fence. Well, it wasn’t an albatross haha. But I had to cut its legs free for it and it played dead in my hands. Stood in the bushes for around half an hour collecting its thoughts and regurgitated a frog and goldfish into the border before it flew off.
Beautiful birds but they can go and look handsome someplace else

My cat nearly gave me a bloody heart attack last night

I was watching the 10 pm news on BBC and there was an article about a new film coming out called St Maud or St something, it's a phycological thriller. The clip showed a girl putting pins into a bit of card board then put them into a shoe and then she puts her foot into the shoe and starts to put her foot down so the pins stick into her foot. Well literally as her foot goes down one of my cats sticks it's claws into my knee. Talk about perfect timing!!! I nearly shat myself, scared the cat and the fun sponge nearly wet her self when I told her what happened even though she was watching and just moaned at first when I scared the cat off.

    HAHAHA. Just brilliant!

Reminded me of the night I was woken by the screams of my mum and brother from the lounge. I was about 11 and they were downstairs watching The Shining (bro was 18 at the time). Anyway, I had a Hamster (Henryetta Boo Boo - don't ask), and she used to be let out to have a run around the lounge if the cats were out. This particular night, she'd buried her way into the settee from underneath, chewed her way up into the back and just at the point that Jack's head came through the smashed door, the bl@@dy Hamster popped out the settee between their heads where they were huddled together, and plopped onto their shoulders Sadly for Boo Boo she was confined to run around in her little plastic ball after that

It's timing couldn't have been better

I've heard of 3D TV and VR TV but this was like I was actually in the bloody film FFS!!! Even the number of claws matched the pins!!!

Sorry to hijack this cat discussion, but problem reported by OP is still happening.

I've been getting random profile pics for a while now with matching links to their relevant threads.

Was this problem looked into/sorted ?
