I built a free mobile toolkit (Calculators for Ammonia, Salt, Volume, etc.)
Like many of you, I got tired of scribbling calculations on the back of envelopes or trying to find five different websites to work out dosing rates.
So, I decided to build a Koi Toolkit—a simple, mobile-friendly collection of calculators designed specifically for our hobby. It runs right in your browser (no app store download needed) and saves your settings to your phone automatically.
What’s inside:
Ammonia Safety: Instantly check if your TAN/pH/Temp combo is toxic.
Pipe Volume: Calculate exactly how much water is sitting in your pipework (Pressure & Waste).
Dosing: Precise calculators for Salt, KH (Bicarb), and Dechlorinators (ST & Vitamin C).
Bio Media: Work out how much media you need for your feeding rate. Energy: A quick estimator for running costs.
Volume & Trickle: Plan your water changes and total system capacity.
How to use it: Just click the link below. It works great on mobile—you can even "Add to Home Screen" to make it look like an app.

It’s free to use, but if you find it useful, please consider buying me a coffee to help cover the time and upkeep. I built this to help the community, so if you spot any bugs or have ideas for a new calculator, please let me know in the comments!
Cheers, @widdz

I've had a quick break from writing my next student module and, same as Sam, I've had a quick look and it seems pretty good but the cats I'm trying to herd through my courses are sucking up all my time so I'll try to have a more thorough look later in the week.

Thanks Sam and Manky I appreciate it.
Manky. That’s brilliant. Would be great to have your expertise checking the calculations are up to scratch and in line with your knowledge.
Hopefully it came across in my post, but my vision is to bring all these resources under one, easy to use and more importantly mobile friendly platform. Allowing users old and new to the koi game an easier way to keep on top of everything koi pond related.

It sure looks good to me, nice one!!
I'd also like an app or something that records my weekly drop test readings, I have them written down on an A4 print out currently, but feel an app could help show patterns forming... anybody use something like this??

Watch this space. It’s something I’ve personally wanted too for a long time. It’s a lot more complex as I’ll have to serve a database / logins etc and then will have GDPR to contend with. But I’m looking into it / planning. It’ll have charts as well to be able to visualise the data over time.

Sure thing.
In my line of work where public or user safety is concerned I have always used the principle of "never underestimate the ability of stupid people to bugger up the most reliable system". With that in mind, when I check a calculator, protocol or piece of equipment that I've designed, my immediate aim before I release it is to ensure it's bombproof and won't go wrong even if someone puts in silly values and, when I check someone else's system I adopt the same approach and try to catch it out.
As expected, my quick checks failed to break your calculators so the ones I checked seem pretty safe to me but if you send me the source code or equations you've used, I'll double check their validity for you.

No problem Manky. Let me collate them and I’ll dm you

In between teaching students I've tried hard to break your calculator. (Maybe it would have been easier to have given it to them to try to break as a homework project
).
Anyway, I have a few observations that I could express better in an email than in a message so if you could PM your email address I can show you what I found.

Glad to help Martin.
Going back over original aquacultural engineering research and first principles to check the validity of the data behind some of the calculators certainly blew the dust out of the almost forgotten dark corners of my memory. I was quite surprised at some of the stuff I remembered
