I have made a few and did a thread on here but cant find it.
Wham bam boxs are good as are any stackable boxs, the main idea is to get the water through the filter as fast as possible as you dont want any standing water.

I made one as well, out of really useful boxes.
Really easy to make and perfect for a a grow on.
In fact I'd say your wasting money buying a pre built shower as a DIY one is just as effective and so easy to make.
The only time I think I would opt for a proper pre built one is if I situated a shower outside as I'd want something smarter looking, plus it will last longer being exposed to the sun's uv rays.
One tip I'd make when building one is to line the bottom of each tier with a plastic filter grid. It will hold the weight of the media better and stop the middle of the bottom of each tray bowing down in the middle due to the weight of the media and water.
