New Filter
Hello, I am moving house and I am going from a 2500l pond to a 14000l pond. I went out and bought a filtoclear 19000 and 11000 pump because I had a filtoclear 11000 that had never gone wrong. But have now realised on checking pond size in new house and it being 14000 litres I.e 14ft x 12ft x 3ft that this won't cope as it says 5000l max for Koi. I will therfor have to return and looking at if the Oase Screenmatic 60000 OC would be the correct choice, even though it's extremely expensive. Please advice and give suggestions on anything recommended for around £1000 of possible. Looking for easy maintenance, good uv and quality pump. Thank you all.

A nexus or a sieve/drum with moving bed would be the absolute bare minimum you should be considering for a pond that size with, more than a handful (4 or 5), of Koi in.
Where Koi are in the pond, An Oase screen o matic is an expensive way to make a bad job, mildly better.
General pond maintenance guys fit them cos it's an easy job for them, to whack a pump in a pond and do no real building work.
It isn't a proper solution.
If you are starting from scratch, you need to research bottom drains and the filters mentioned above. If at all possible you'll need to avoid pump fed if you want more than a handful of Koi and some goldfish, for example.Last edited by Alburglar; 29-08-2024 at 03:27 PM.
