Cost of branded uv clarifier lamps and are non branded any Ģood

I have a 20000 litre pond with an Oase Screenmatic 2 and Bitron C uv clarifier and the pond is 4foot deep with 28 koi, my problem this year has been water clarity with trouble with the fine particles not being caught by the foam filters. I have vacuumed the bottom now and put some fleece matting in the filter box which has helped but the clarity is still not as good as it was last year. The cost of the branded uvc lamps has gone up to anything from £45 to £62 per lamp and I need 2 so I have bought some none branded ones which quite afew well known suppliers are selling for less than £20 for 2 lamps. I know we can say pays to buy the genuine ones but cost of living etc one has to try and save if you can but has anyone else used these cheaper lamps and seen any difference in clarity. I use 55watt two lamps and the ones I purchased are Pisces.

What type of lamps are they?

For example, OSRAM and Philips are generally the best and these are just £15 each (but may not be the correct bulb for your clarifier):

But you also refer to fines, which is more of a mechanical filtration issue than a UV related issue.

Your username has intrigued me....... I have a few life size locos dotted about here and there.
