    Best plants to remove Nitrate

I am rebuilding my pond and have sorted out mechanical and biological filtration. I am returning this water via an enclosed tank (roughly 12'x3'x3' deep) solely to remove Nitrate, Can anyone advise me which plants are most efficient at removing Nitrate, I used Water Cress in a previous, smaller attempt, and the root system seemed prolific, but has anyone got better suggestions?

pug has a very impressive veg filter on his pond, have a look at some of his his youtube videos.
very large fast growing plants pull a lot of nitrates and phosphates out of the water.

Canít advise on best type but I just went with a random mix of plants/lillies, we have something very similar dimensions and it seems to work well-ie plants grow well, canít give any indication as to how effective it is in terms of nitrate/phos levels as donít really monitor that if Iím honest
