    Microbeast Filter faulty

Hi, hope someone can help me please! I have a MICROBEAST FILTER with an Airflow Blower and all was well until quite recent, when I go to clean the filter nothing is happening, the blower is working because I can hear it but it isn't agitating the k1 media so It's not cleaning properly! Any ideas please. Thanks Paul

I’m assuming you have to open a valve when using the blower or has your non return valve stuck perhaps

Hi, Procedure is, Turn off pump, close return valve, turn lever to rinse and start the blower. Unfortunately the blower is working but isn't agitatting the media at all! do you think it could be a blockage or somehow there is no water in the filter?

    Thanks

Yeah, sounds like a heavy build up.

Thanks, do I remove all media or what? I've poked around with a stick several times without success!

Hi/ Yes take the top off and have a look. Are you running it from a skimmer?

    Have you got a prefilter?

The return comes into an ultrasieve then onto the biofilter, then out to a bakki shower

No water in the filter, it won’t agitate without water?

Looks like it's working properly again! I know I only did a filter clean say once a month between Oct-April so maybe a blockage somewhere! how often should I clean the filter? once a week? I have a 4000 gallon pond with 20 fish in. Thanks Paul
