    Help needed with filtration

I'm hoping that someone with more experience can give me some advice.

I'm currently running an Oasis filter running into 2 barrels of K1 media. It's abit of a DIY system. It's done an ok job over the past couple of years but I've never been completely happy with it.

I've recently purchased a second hand Cetus sieve and a Aquadyne 2.2 bead filter with K1 micro in it. Both I got at a very good price from separate sellers.

I'm currently on a pump feed system. The plan was to run the sieve off one pump and bead off another. I know this isn't ideal, but next year I plan to rebuild with a bottom drain. So it be bottom drain to sieve, sieve to bead, bead returning to pond.

    My questions.

    1. Can you run one bead straight into another bead as I can possibly get another bead filter cheap.

    2. Is it worth it.

    Thanks in advance.

Does anyone have my opinions on this?

Doing some research in theory it would help because it's extra mechanical and biological. But some people have said it would reduce the flow rate down due to the pressure.

    I'm confused.

Yes you can, it will reduce flow rate but a bigger pump/bigger pipe will help that. The difference stepping up to 2” flexi pipe compared to 1.5” is quite surprising. Obviously 1 big bead is better than 2 small beads for simplicity and less clutter etc but they’ll still work. Never used them myself mind you
