Dave you'll be the man for this one ..
I have some 35mm polycarb lining around would it do anything towards trapping heat in if I put them around the tank . So it would be
tank, pir boards ,polycarb, osb, then fence boards to finish ???
Maybe even some spare polystyrene boards in between the osb and fence facing
And I have some polyethylene (polytunnle cover) lining around that I could wrap around??

air is a great insulator...pretty much all insulation is based on it...
just as long as it is kept still and not moving around
trapped in microscopic bubbles in PIR or in layers like with polycarbonate,
water is the opposite it draws heat away so if you can keep your insulation dry it will perform better,
so yeah polycarb will definately help,
fence panels help create another barrier to the heat escaping, though not by much.
but polythene wrapped around the fence panels keeping them dry will help too.
as it's no good having insulation around something with gaps that let the air move out,
effectively bypassing the insulation...

Shower would be your best bet Aj,as you may know I have two and the one on my grow on you can hardly hear at all.
Both full of grog with no blocking at all and as long as you use plastic boxs they are fine.
On the grow on I have 3 x 1.5ins exit pipes with 45 deg on the end,on one I pushed some more pipe to exit under water and loads of oxygen bubbles going in.
So not noisy at all mate.John

Going from your other post if your ibc has 4ins outlet then ok as if I remember the seive is 4ins inlet.
I used to have a plastic drum vortex before the seive to settle the crap which was fine as there will be a lot of crap to get rid of and whether the seive alone will cope.
Still have the drum here doing nothing which you could have but too big to post.
Think it's a 30 gal ish.John

I would put some polystyrene under the ibc to keep the heat in,you can get 4 ins thick from builders cheap enough,or used to be.
