the thing with bakki showers is you sacrifice retention, for turnover.
thats why turnover needs to be high to be effective.
between once to three times an hour and 5-8kgs of shower media per 1000 litres.

but if you have a fully sized and capable submerged bio as well,
and the shower is just an additional piece of filtration, it's not as critical...

lots of info on the link RoyLittle0 posted

Without a flow meter it’s hard to say how fast it’s flowing through the shower but it looks pretty good to me. I’m just using a single 3/4 HP swimming pool pump to feed shower waterfall and bio filter………. All good just now

The problem with using a guessomometer is, it always looks good
I worked mine out with a bucket and timer...
Disconnected the top tier and used a rubber boot to direct the water into a bucket sitting on the next tier down

i got good and soaked doing it, and its not 100% accurate.
But im not putting 10,000 lph over my shower guessing it was 20,000lph

people band the figure 20,000 lph 30,000 lph around...... like its just a pipe with water slowly pouring out...

20,000 lph coming out of a 3" open ended fitting is blasting out like a fireman hose!
it fills a builders bucket in 2 seconds flat, and then starts pouring over the edge like niagra falls

i used up a dozen bath towels mopping up the floor the first time i did it lol!...
