Shower filter on an in-ground pond

Just wanted to post some pictures of my new shower filter. Before I started the installation I scoured the Internet looking for pictures of a shower filter on an in-ground pond like mine but couldn't find any at all. Wasn't sure it would look right in a natural pond but I think it's okay? It replaced what was basically a bird bath/waterfall. I will miss the visiting birds but after reading so much about how they can carry parasites I will hopefully have reduced the risk a little.
Only switched it on last night so quite bubbly, will this go away by itself?
Thanks to Syd for advising on filter media, always the voice of reason.

I think it look ok mate, I might be tempted to break the box up abit with plants of fake foliage though. My pond is formal and I'm considering getting some plants growing up the back wall.

As for the foam, is it proteins in the water? My shower creates a small amount but it naturally disappears.

Some "mind your own business" would grow well in the shower

    Cheers Jay,
Yes, I agree about the plants. I have ordered some mind-your-business to plant in the gaps of each tier which should break up the shiny plastic look. Don't think the bubbles are protein as they weren't there before. I'm hoping it's something to do with the media (pumice x 60kg and 15kg of alpha grog in the bottom).

i'm not a massive fan of showers on a pond, but yours doesn't look half bad at all mate...
it blends quite well with the rocks...

maybe a nice mature acer to soften the edges around the pipe a bit...?

like this one around my pergola post

    Cheers Dave,
I would love an acer like yours. I've managed to kill 2 since living in this house despite bags of ericaceouscompost. I have one in a pot that seems to be doing okay for now.

An acer palmatum 'bloodgood' or 'garnet' is a good choice for an open position like that, once its a reasonable size they are pretty robust.
