Oh look, it?s a bead filter with K1 in it.
Great bit of innovation there

Ea use micro k1 in their bead filters to catch fines ,but use k1 in the tempest to catch fines Makes perfect sense (not)

You’ve ruined EA’s upgrade now, in a couple of years they will release the upgrade version with Micro K1.

I bought a nexus 300 when they first came out.I listened to the dealer tell me what they would do ,how good they were etc etc. After a couple of years EA brought the Easy upgrade out to replace the centre foam .Another ?300 later and it actually was worse than the foam ,but easier to clean .

If anyone watches Tim Waddingtons videos (I really like them) you’ll notice recently beads have started appearing on all the ponds featured. Presumably to take out the fines which the “nexi” don’t . Presumably these will be next! Btw isn’t this just a tiny bead filter I’ll stick with the draco for now....

I saw these on Tim waddingtons instagram and watched the video about it out of curiosity. EA don't seem to have a great rep on here haha! I remember when I was building my pond I heard so many people say Nexus filters are garbage but equally some saying they are the best things in the world. It seems a fair few have them on here with no issues but run a Draco drum too which kind of defeats the object if you have to spend a load more to make a filter adequate. I must admit I was interested as I thought if they are any good it looks like something that could easily be replicated for cheap by someone who knows what they are doing, although equally if you shop about there are people who make Bakki showers for a couple hundred minus the media so I think that would be a better option.

Just watched Tim Waddington's latest video, where he swaps out a shower for two of these Tempests on one of his display ponds.

Why would you remove a shower that’s 100% biological filtration for two tempest polishers that must be 100% mechanical filtration

With a few tweaks the answer could have been a massive hit for EA But they didn’t bother

Time will tell if the product lives up to its potential. It?s never designed for large ponds I think it?s for people for small ponds and/or have no space to install a larger filter.

Here's the update.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XN7gP2ZEnhY
I think EA must be cringing. So they are left 8 days and then 'cleaned' am i missing something or should it actually of cleaned first time ? Interesting also if they were fitted on a pond with a drum all that crap would already of been removed at source rather than fester for 8 days . Or as the vid says do them every two days, like cleaning brushes (Or just fit a drum ). Anyway I like how you can see the media im getting one!Fibreglassed/5000 gals/4.5 m Tunnel/Spindrifter/Twin drums/Bio chambers/Beads/Showers/Remora ASHP
