That's the only complaint I have with my Vac is waiting to empty sure the is ones that you don't have to wait for a for a couple quid extra would be worth it in my eyes

Must admit I am considering getting one to get rid of the algae etc on the bottom. Always assumed the bottom drain would pull all the crap in but it doesn't and I find myself out there once or twice a week with a brush trying to tease the algae and crap to the bottom drain but ends up murking the water up for a hour or so till it settles again.

    Hi Russ,

Having used the 'base model' Oase Pondvac for a couple of years, I can confirm it is a real pain to wait for the chamber to empty, before it resumes cleaning. I replaced it with:

More expensive yes, but worth it.

    All the best,

    Andy

Speaking as an idiot who got his pond built without a bottom drain, and who also has the basic Oase Vac, I have to agree.
I'm going to have to get the PondoVac 3, aren't I?

    Yes mate.

TBH, even with a bottom drain, my PondVac 3 picks up quite a lot of muck with a regular clean up.

I have a Pondovac 4 that works really well and doesn’t need emptying so you can vacuum continuously. It does suck out sludge, weed etc. really well.
The only negative that I didn’t realise is that the unit has to be higher than the outlet as it can’t pump the water upwards. On a sunken pond this would not be a problem, but as mine is raised I have to balance mine on the roof of the filter housing and enlist help for someone to hold onto it !
