I planted a circle of conifers, which are thirsty trees, dug a hole 2ft deep in the centre, covered the hole with a slab and backfilled round the slab with soil to seal.

It comes out about 20ft past the wall so no it’s fine, deer like the water though. Big H has a good idea, guess I’m lucky not to be on clay so water drains very quickly and I have a very low stocking density helps too

Hi Ollykoi,
I run mine onto the ground outside the filter house, which runs down to a soak away underneath that is also fed from the double garage guttering.
The pond and garage are at the bottom of my downward sloping garden so lots of water filters down there.
In wet weather the soak away was getting over whelmed so I set up a water butt on the garage and fed a pipe from it back up the garden and now it is better but can still be a problem in really wet weather.
In the summer the waste can smell
a bit. I rake it over from time to time.
I have thought about placing a fine mesh basket under the outlet to catch the larger bits of waste and then throwing them onto compost. Not got round to it yet - it means more maintenance.
Drums can kick out a lot of water so just be conscious of where it’s going and check if the same location will be fed by other drainage output. Some of the the ideas already suggested look good.
Cheers
Ady

Mine plumbed into main drains..I built the pond at same time as house extension, so possible to do so..
The Daily pond temp thread
Just kept 12 overnight for the first time. Hitting 12.8 in the daytime but bang on 12 first thing...
