Just as well i had a spare!

    Hi All
Went through my normal cleaning routine today, Nexus 300 with a 18000 DCP Jebao pump being pump fed also have a retro fit bottom drain fitted . My routine includes turning pump off, which all was well cleaned as normal WTF as i've gone to turn pump on ER 05 comes on the display screen tried a couple of times still no joy booklet out ER 05 reads Abnormal working Voltage.
Stripped it all down took the pump out and this is what i found

As the title suggests just as well i had a spare but not variable so i need a new one
Although i wouldn't put this back in the pond i take this is the most likely reason for the Error code ?

    Cheers Colin

That does seem strange and a lucky escape that you or the pond didn't end up fried.

Definitely a short circuit somewhere for it to burn like that especially in this cold weather.

That's a bugger, my old Jebao's lasted years without issue, although none were vari-able.

Can you not open it up and see if you can re-attach/seal ??

If it's variable is it not low voltage like the EA ones?

If so there's not a lot of risk in a diy repair, I wouldn't have thought.

Assuming you can get in of course!

Haven't tried yet but at first glance it does look like a sealed unit but no harm in trying i suppose then get the missus to plug it back in

I have the 18000 variable Jebao and I think its 24 v so I would be having a go at repairing it,cant understand why it happened though.

I had a look at the pump i took the back plate off and where the cable goes in its a sealed unit so ordering a new one but i will put this one in the airing cupboard to completely dryout then use some CT1 to try and reseal it then get her in doors to plug it in whilst standing right back

Ha ha so funny, that's what I do.

Sometimes even use the kids on the basis there's a sensible adult around to save them if something goes wrong, whereas if I get fried they'd be helpless ha ha.
