Siting of big blues
Where does everybody site their water treatments? I’m thinking of siting prior to my draco feed, as I’m surprised at just how much untreated water gets into the pond via the draco wash cycles, I’d always presumed it was rainwater in some part topping up but with covers on it’s clearly not. Water here is mega soft, so hard water clogging the screen hasn’t been an issue so far, I’ve not cleaned it in 4 months use.

I have mine returning into an easy pod that’s on my skimmer line but not for any particular reason other than I check the amount of water coming out the hose without going all the way around my pond

Inside the filter house so no risk of freezing etc.
Pipe into the bottom of lower shower tray coming out beneath the media. It’s there for 2 reasons- handy location and it doesn’t go straight to any bio media where chlorine could cause an issue.2016 new 6000 gallon pond

Will definitely site in the filter bay, without the luxury of a filter house I’ll need to insulate that this week with kingspan. Hopefully this puppy will then keep it frost free in there on the cold nights.

So is the general feeling to use the BB’s on top up feed only and not on the feed to the drum?Fibreglassed/5000 gals/4.5 m Tunnel/Spindrifter/Twin drums/Bio chambers/Beads/Showers/Remora ASHP
