I thought you were going to say you spilt PP everywhere and all you can see is purple

Sorry to hear about your back though, hope you get back to normal ASAP

I had a gnat or something bite me on my back right in the middle and it must have stuck it's podger thing right near a nerve as it was very painful and I was off work for a couple of days

You often find with back issues it's not the heavy lifting that does it in straight away but can very often be the next morning when you get out of bed and go to put a sock on or in your case go to pick up a cup of coffee and it goes big time.

Having followed the instructions on Manke's site, the media is now maturing nicely. I'm testing every day and seeing the ammonia level fall and nitrite starting to rise.

I reckon a couple more weeks and then will get some Tosai to grow on

The media is now nicely matured and it would seem that the bacteria is thriving. After topping up with Ammonia the level is back to near zero overnight, nitrite is zero and nitrate is reasonably high.

I was hoping to get some fish this week or next but that's not going to happen now, unless we come out of Tier 4 or I order online. I guess I'll just keep the media ticking over in the garage for a while longer.

Thanks to Syd (manke sanke) for providing the info on his site, for fishless cycling.
