Hi
You have said the pH is too high but you have not said what the level is?
A UV is not going to help your pH value.

Probably not qualified to answer but a good starting point would be to say what your ph in the pond is and what the ph of your tap water is? Then you can start to work out the cause.
I think I'm right in saying that koi can thrive in water with a ph of around 8.5 (that's where my water is).
Hopefully one of the more experienced guys on here will help you out.

Your correct that koi can happily live at a pH of 8.5 but this is the top end of that scale.
Koi can adjust to live in a pH a safe rage is between 7 and 8.5 outside of these values you could run into issues fast.
I would say that koi favour the lower range to really thrive but as said would be happy at the higher range.
What koi do not like is fluctuations in the pH

Hmm I would be questioning what made it so high in the first place. Have you added anything to the pond other than tap water?

I think it best that you post all of the parameters to give a clearer picture of what is going on as they all have relationships with each other so will help determine what you need to do to fix it.
Especially the following:
Temperature
Ammonia
Nitrite
Nitrate
PH
KH

Hi Robo76, Was just looking back at your previous threads and you were having issues with a film on the surface of your water very recently. Has that cleared up now and were you able to figure out what it was? I couldn't quite make out if this was a newly built pond or just a newly built, (and seriously impressive!), pond house around an existing pond. If the pond was newly fibre glassed did you fill and empty with water after it was cured? I'm just wondering if these strange readings are something to do with chemical off-gassing of your new set up still
Adding fish is not going to have any effect on pH and if your pH is not between 7 and 8.5 you really don't want to be putting fish in for risk of seriously stressing, possibly even killing, them as they'll be stressed from being transported anyhow. You ideally want to be adding fish only if you are able to keep your pond at around 18C now so that you can get a nitrogen cycle started with the help of the ammonia from the fish; any colder than that and your filter bugs will struggle to reproduce in an immature filter so you may have a battle to keep the water safe for any fish you add.
Do please post up all your param readings as RS has suggested as I don't think we can really advise until we see the full picture11,440L Raised Pond, BD, Oase ProfiClear, Bitron 55W, 2x10k Aquaforte Varios, Skimmer to Waterblade

Hi Robo,
I use these kits too at times and they are Ok.
Please note the Ph test only reads to 9 though so something still may be confused, in respect of which test is being undertaken, which is easily done.
Please don’t do anything until the readings are fully understood as a wrong decision may be taken that could have catastrophic results for the fish.
There are plenty of knowledgeable members already on your thread who will help and guide you. If you want any advice over the phone in addition then I am happy for you to make contact with me.
Cheers
