    Thanks for the comments, I have gone for the aqua forte Vario S got a good deal off Amazon for a couple.

    Just got to look for a good air pump now

    No 3 phase can be any voltage I think you'll find 415 voltage is just what the electricity supplier generates but each of those 3 phase measured individually to either neutral or earth is only 230 volts. You only get 415 volts if you measure between different lives or phases.

    On pumps there is probably an inverter that uses the 230 volt supply and can convert it to a 3 phase supply of a desired voltage. I could be wrong but usually the voltage is dropped down to something like 12, 24 or 36 volts.

    That's how I understand it anyway
