Plan for the weekend -
Clean all the filters except the sieve unless it needs it, although it might be worth doing that as well so it's in sync with everything else to start with. Leave the current filter sock on until the filter cleaning is done as there could be some crap in the system that gets flushed through so don't really want that getting into the pond. So will only swap and clean the socks with the main pump switched off for the next week or so just to make sure.

Mine had only been running an hour or two max when I took the photo yesterday. I tried to check it this morning but didn't take my phone so couldn't see if much more had gone built up over night but I've just drained it to waste as part of a full system clean so not sure how much came out or if the muck came off the inside with just a drain but will have a look in a minute now the phone has finished charging

Just fitted a small LED flood light over the sieve so I can see into it now.
Hope this isn't a stupid question as I got the sieve second hand so no instructions etc. How do I know when it's time to clean the sieve? I'm guessing with the screen I will know if that's blocking as the water level will start to rise and eventually go down the overflow if not caught in time?

I don run it slow use it for water changes at full flow. As I keep telling you lol
I use ST so don t need the 3 pod. The cartridges still catch things like metal s.
In the water. Check the sieve every few days lol. As I don t know of your type of sieve. So i don t know how it performs lol

Sorry something's getting lost in translation here Fred
You said you use a hose to clean the screen and the hose is fed via a 3 canister dechlorinator - well that's how I read it!!!

Running heater at low temp?
Covering the pond with polycarb should be enough to stop water temps dipping below 6C for the most...
