Just out of interest are the 2 links for the photos in the earlier thread working or do I need to redo them?

Just stripped and cleaned the Bioforce Revolution filter and protein skimmer on the skimmer line this morning. Due to all the recent rain the water level was almost overflowing out of the top of the wall mounted skimmer so didn't need to top up pond after cleaning filters

Cleaned the Eazy Pod and Multi Cyclone filters too which meant the water level dropped enough for me to take the opportunity to adjust the overflow on the side of the pond that I've been meaning to do since I fitted it a few months back Just needed to unscrew the elbow and cut about 5mm off the top section as the water was nearly overflowing out of the wall mounted skimmer on Thursday and was still a little way off the top of the elbow so no way it would have worked. I even managed to cut it at a slight angle to take into account the slope on the wall of the pond so just hope I've got the angle the right way so it's now nearly parallel with the surface of the water and not nearly 45 degrees to it
Just topping the pond back up and added some tap water conditioner then later on a dose of Aquasource Resolve will be going in to hopefully get rid of the blanket weed

Always good to have a re-jig Frim.
out of interest, how do you find the cyclone? I have one here but when I had it on a lower flow rate with the pod it never really done anything.
i think they’re designed for much higher flow such as a pool pump so I’m thinking of fitting mine to the pool but just no sure whether to bother or not.

Yes I know what you mean lol
I'm running the Multi Cyclone at what I think is about 6000 lph? and it's catching something. It needs stripping and cleaning occasionally as I was just flushing it once with the pump running and once just by gravity. The best alteration I made was fitting a ball valve on the top in place of the bleed screw. The Eazy Pod is working OK at 6000 lph

I have one of those discs in the top of the Eazy Pod which is OK but doesn't let it boil and clean properly so as I'm only running an old 70 or 80 lpm Healia (yes that's probably spelt wrong lol) and it's a piston pump so a bit noisy so maybe I should go for something a bit more powerful and more 21st century lol
Hope that helps?
I'm also in the process of fitting a pump fed sieve on my main pond plus a retro BD so will update later

Yes that was one of my earlier options along with building a frame using 40 x 40 Unistrut. I did think about building a dry block platform but it would have been a bit of a pain to get enough blocks in the boot of the car as the top needs to be about 4ft or 1.2m off the ground plus a slab on top of that

Just sorted out some better wood for the shelf. Just need them to dry out a bit first
Spent most of the afternoon trying to convert the retro BD to 2". The existing fitting was 40mm.

Lol you're spot on there lol.
I had to cut off the existing 40mm hose tail and started to drill it out to take a 2" pipe. So far just managed to drill the original hole which I think was 38mm out to 40mm which was a bit of a pain as the hole saw had nothing for the pilot drill to drill into to hold the cutter in place so had to file the edge of the hole to give the cutter something to hold it in place. Then had to file down the outside of the elbow which is 2" waste so it fitted inside a 2" pressure pipe double union fitting. Now I need to drill the 40mm hole out to 56mm but will have to wait until Tuesday when I can try to get one from the wholesalers.

I have used a heat gun to get pipe work to fit together. And fittings. Learnt that watching one of wrighty s video s.
And to take old fittings out. Saved a few quid that way.
Even I could do it and I am crap at DIY.
