    Full garden remodel with pond

So I’ve made a few threads over last few months trying to gather all the information on how to go about building my pond.

I’ve decided to create this thread since I feel I now know what I’m doing and it may be helpful for people in future.

My garden is going to have a new deck installed with composite boards I plan to have this deck between my conservatory and the shed I plan to build.

The shed will house the nexus filter I will pour a concrete slab on a timber frame suspended in the air so I can have extra filters under my shed. The bottom drain will come through this and into the nexus above

The pond will have a timber frame built with OSB to do a monolithic pour with a slab and wall at same time. rebar connecting the slab and walls will be within the osb frame

Here’s the photo of my progress so far

This is from my conservatory doors. Will step out onto the deck. At the other side is the shed floor with a concrete recessed access panel

I will pour a slab over the shed area and deck straight onto the frame between the shed slab and the conservatory

On the right there you can see the pond walls going up.

Anyone have any questions or criticism I look forward to hearing it

Concrete is gonna be back filled into the hole around the shed base frame. Once osb has been fitted. The concrete walls will help keep the concrete slab in place and the nexus will be sat on the slab in the shed

Pond will be approx 4.8m long 1.8m wide. But walls take up 20cm each side so may end up being around 4.4m long 1.2m wide .

Gonna try and fit as big as i can in that hole

Here’s the first piece of osb fitted to my shed base.

I will just be back filling the hole on these bits to strengthen the concrete slab that will be suspended on the joists above. Wanted to ensure the slab was strong enough to hold the weight of all my tools and the nexus

I just hope my bracing is enough as I don’t have the garden space to anchor to the ground outside the pond area

Looking good. Just one question, is that timber treated? I won’t last long otherwise

No it’s not treated but I dispose of it after concrete cures. No point me paying extra for treated when it’s only a temporary mould

Ah sorry. I’ve just read through the whole thread properly. I didn’t realise earlier that it was only temporary.

    Good luck with the build
