I had the same issue. I just left it and the k1 iceberg eventually drops down as more and more k1 starts tumbling as the bio film builds up.

There will be eventually once you start feeding them.
But as you point out it'll take some time. However the reality is that it will take an age for the k1 to mature anyway (1 year to 18months, unless you are heated).
So at least with a few small fish the cycle can start before the water temps start dropping off. Plus you won't have the nightmare of the ammonia and nitrite going off the chart as you would if you had more and bigger fish.

Thanks for all the help guys. Looks like everything is ok
Water level dropped by about 2mm over 3 days? Hoping that's just evaporation?
How high do you guys have the water level off top of glass window?
I'm hoping to run it about 1cm off the top?
Do koi tend to jump out?

I am afraid that Koi tend to jump when dealing with parasites, when new fish are introduced ,if parameters change, if flies lurk near the surface, if there is a feeding frenzy…oh and just because they can. I have lost 4 fish in 7 years and an additional 2 were saved in time through jumping.
I now have jump guards1kGal BD/Skim RDF/UV/k1 2.3kGal 2windows 2airBD/skim Sieve/Eazypod RDFcombi+bakki 3xVP/UV,ASHP

I will probably have to get jump gaurds then as I can't lower the water level due to my filter being on a concrete slab
Can I get nice looking jump gaurds that will go over a 2.7m long window?

How long are they between supports though? As I won't be able to place a support in middle of window

I agree with the above about jumping fish. I've lost 3 and saved 2 more where they've jumped over the glass. It's always the glass where they've escaped from.
I've now put jump guards up.
If using perspex, you can normally only get them in lengths up to 3m so it will just about bridge the window. On such a span I'd say go for for 10mm or thicker, as the thinner it is the more it'll flex. The rest of the pond can be 8mm or so as the lengths won't have to be as long.
Be warned, due to covid polycarb and perspex has shot up in price. Have a look at threads on them, as there are some good pointers.

Yeah think glass is cheaper, which seems slightly counterintuitive to me. But that seems to be the situation at the mo.
