Thread: Full garden remodel with pond

Sounds like you have really low water pressure? How long is the pond fill going to take?
could you slow the flow rate down on filling the header tank so that it doesn’t impact the showers?
I can’t think of another way to do it other than some kind of solenoid on the filler tank that will close when there is a pressure drop (because the showers are being used).

Yeah I get around 7 lpm at the kitchen tap.
I could try and have a ball valve very close to being shut before the float valve and hope the trickle is slow enough not to effect the water pressure.
If not I'll have to try and get a pressure sensor and an automation setup with home assistant.
I think it will take about 35 hours to completely fill

7lpm is poor, what pressure do you get off the mains?
you could always slap a whole house booster on it

I've put a salamander home boost on it today and only got it from 7 to 8.5 lpm
My pipe coming into the stop tap is only a 15mm pipe though.
I'm considering putting a new pipe into the street as I'm renovating anyway and Northumbrian water only charge 200 to connect it but I can't change the internal pipework after stop tap above 15mm as it's behind a brand new fitted kitchen
Would increasing the pipe from the road to 30mm make a difference if my internal pipework is 15mm?

In other news filling has begun...
Will probably take 20 hours before I know if any leaks are an issue

Watching it fill feels extremely slow but I bet any leak gushes out at light speed

How likely are those rubber boots at the nexus drain to leak? I don't trust those at all

My solvent weld water fall fittings will not be accessable at all after Im finished as they are behind the wall which is just off the boundary.
Issues with having small garden.
I'm going to lean over and check for leaks and not tile over the wall until next year and hope everything is fine

Is it a good idea to smother all my solvent weld joints in bond it pu18?
I've got my nexus drain going to a 4 inch waste pipe but also have a tee coming from shed roof which turns out to have had a leak when I just checked and that has no pressure it's just gravity rain flow so I'm not holding out much hope for my other joints now

Window seems ok but I've had to stop the fill as a part of the pipe inside my shed solvent weld joint is leaking... I've smothered it in pu18 but not sure that's going to work

Forgot to add photo... I don't think the pu18 is going to stop that leak.. it's dripping quite fast through the pu18 I've slapped on

I can't get that pipe to stop dripping I've covered it in 3 layers of CT1 now and it keeps dripping through it.
Anyone got any ideas? The thickness of CT1 is starting to be a massive bulge in the pipework
Is there any rounded plastic that can be pushed ontop of the CT1 like an extra layer of pipe maybe?

It's the elbow that's immediately after it comes through my shed wall... I could replace it but it will be a pain
