Having had mine delivered not long ago, all be it from TuffX. I was supplied the driver's name and mobile number.
He actually rang me early that day and told me a rough time. I'd all ready asked 2 mates to help that day in advance, when I knew the time I let them know.
Great service.
The delivery bloke done nothing other than move the glass to the back of the wagon.

When I looked into cranes for another project, it was approx £500 for half a day.

Do you have to operate it yourself for that price?

Have a word with them if they don't have contacts to get one could be a way to make sure you get a written in stone time . Or to be better safe than sorry is the front of your house safe enough for little scrotes to leave it out over night ready for the crane first thing next morning

In other news here’s my progress so far.
Shuttering all finished up to top level. Each board is 15cm wide.
I have a stack of 7.5cm boards to put on top to somehow level them off as the slight unevenness of the boards have compounded.
Anyone got any tips on an easy way to level off the top?
My current idea is to setup a 360 degree laser level in the center of pond screw all the 7.5cm boards in place then mark level take them all back off and cut every single board across the level line
Seems like a lot of work

Hey feline,
My form walls are nearly done. Screwing the top pieces in now. Got a 360 degree laser level but not worth me wasting my time with it as all the timber is in the way so can’t get a solid line.
I reckon around the whole pond there may be around 5-6cm off tops from one end to the other.
What did you use for the adhesive for the Capping stones that I can use with the window packers?
Also did you put the adhesive over the liner?
Cheers

I used black Automarine. I put it on both the top of the concrete blocks and the fibreglass itself where it comes over the top of the pond wall. I worked out for each block which packer size was needed and then put some Automarine both below and above the packers so they were well stuck down.
Its important to start with whichever is the highest point of the fibreglass/liner lip and lay that coping stone first, so you can then match the others to that height as you go round with your spirit level. Otherwise you would end up having to angle grind off the highest one when you get to it which would be very annoying and messy.2016 new 6000 gallon pond

Is it not thick enough without using packers?
Could you not squeeze a massive blob sit the caping ontop and tap it down until level?

I suppose that depends on how heavy your coping stones are. Mine are welsh slate and were extremely heavy- they would just flatten your blobs of Automarine without any actual tapping. If you’re not sure then just try it out first on something that isn’t your pond wall and see if you can adjust the level of your coping to your liking or not. I already had a big pack of glazing packers knocking around from when I installed the upvc door in the filter house so was a no-brainier to use them

I can get the packers easy enough. Just sounds like very time consuming and frustrating work.
I imagine placing a Packer one end then another end, checking level, trying another packer, and another and another then when it’s finally level accidentally knocking the packer so it’s in wrong place and having to level again

I’m getting stressed out.
Can not find anyone to lay concrete. Local restrictions have made it an issue to get family to help.
I’ve contacted several local companies all messing me about.

It’s not the legality that’s the issue as technically anyone can work. I could pay family min wage for 3 hours and all fine. But the government literally instilling fear in people. Some people are literally so brainwashed by the constant scaring in the media they won’t even leave the house.
And I think the government paying everyone’s wages for doing nothing is making it so contractors don’t give a shit about taking a job. I’ve managed to get hold of 4 different people on google and they just don’t seem bothered to get some work
It’s nuts
