Bead filters
Thinking of a smallish bead filter for polishing after nexus. It will go in filter pit unprotected from the elements, plug will obviously be protected. Koi dealers have said I should have no problems with the blower not being protected can anyone confirm before I buy one
Thanks
Ian
PS looking for something like a EB60

What about putting a rubber or plastic cover over the blower securing with cable tie or plant support wire, leave unplugged with plug protected

I have a blown one which was left outside. All the screws and nuts that hold the 2 halves together have rusted so bad it now cant be taken apart to repair it.

What about a bead that is cleaned by an air pump rather than a fixed blower ala the Biomax bead filters? You can then add and remove the air pump when necessary.

Keeping my eyes opened for something like a used biomax to run off my skimmer. Econobead will be protected in a small filter shed. Had a re jig and a good think about it

I ran one after a nexus for many years had really good water, used to clean it every other and the nexus once a week.
i used to take the blower off, it was covered outside didn’t have any problems.
i ran another bead later that used to use an air pump to clean that may be a better option if you want to just leave it.
