Just put part one of a video on Youtube part one filling a pod with K1 micro and getting it to still boil 24L of Micro with a disk in it that was it on a 190L air pump smashing it to clean. The old pod's came with 20L of k1 I think you would never get 30L in there and then they then went to 18L of the micro the part two of the video on Sunday 24L micro boiling in a pod

The original Eazy Pods used either 30 litres of K1 or 18 litres of micro 100%
I'll find the instructions showing the figures take a photo and stick it on here over the weekend.

Found some old bumf you are right its 30L no wonder the stuff kept getting out the top and I have one of the first ones 13/14 years old now the disk cuts the moving room down a bit but got 24L of micro in it now. I just like them as a filter bung a moving bed after it and its as good as a Nexus. Sundays video is better for a look see out a 15.30 what I did

IV just upgraded to an eazypod automatic, it's made a massive difference on my 4000 litre koi pond, really pleased with it, hopefully you will have similar results.
Cleaning is now a pleasure, I walk outside, press a button and then go back Inside, Job done

Be interested to hear how you get on with it longer term as they have been getting mixed reviews.
What did you have before you had the Eazy Pod Automatic?

This was my original set up, Waterbutt with a bin suspected inside full of k1 media, then onto a box filter with sponges and bio media. 11w UV at the start
The problem was cleaning the k1 media in the water butt filter

Received the pod today, noticed no cut off valve for the inlet apparently its sufficient to switch off pump only. I have ordered one nonetheless. The other was the cleaning pipe is extremely tight fit, noticed a couple of sawn lengths at one end which I presume assists in getting it to fit but so tight you can only push it in an inch or two otherwise u will never get it out again. Anybody noticed this with the new pod complete.

The cleaning pipe is tight on mine too and I think they have used a metric sized pipe. I originally thought it was a bit of 3" waste pipe but it wouldn't fit into another bit of 3" pressure pipe I had so either the pressure pipe they have used for the internals of the Eazy Pods is a very thin walled pressure pipe or the cleaning pipe is a metric pipe probably 85mm?
As my cleaning pipe has been in and out a few times it's probably worn itself and the pressure pipe down slightly but I still have to be careful I don't push it down too far or I need a pair of pliers or grips to get the bugger back out again after cleaning.
Definitely a good idea to have a valve on the inlet and the waste outlet. Best option for the waste is a ball valve as they are more reliable than a slide valve and more expensive so that's why EA fit slide valves on them now.
If you fit the valve on the inlet then you only need to use it when you have to as I think the Automatics have electronic valves of some description fitted to them but I wouldn't want to rely on just a pump turning off to hold the water in the Eazy Pod unless there is an NVR fitted between the pump and the Eazy Pod?

Ok here is my latest query. Having just received my pod complete which according to EA has had some redesigns. The inlet is not fitted with the slide valve apparently not required but I decided to purchase one anyway to make life easier and to ensure the water stays in the pod until i release it through the waste. Problem is you cannot screw it in because the slide handle stops you rotating the thread. I am a bit scared of just undoing the 4 bolts that hold the valve so i can fix it on then bolt back the slider afterwards in case i end up with a leak along the seals. Question is do i really need this valve or return it. I appreciate many of you use pods for several years and not come across this new version. My guess is it's all to do with the automatic variant design which does not have a inlet valve it just shuts down the pump and carry on

You may need to buy a flexible rubber boot reducer to fit the valve to the inlet of the Eazy Pod and then you can either solvent weld a hose tail into the other side of the valve so you can attach a flexi hose to it. Can do the same but just pressure pipe or waste pipe depending on how you plan to connect between the pump and the Eazy Pod. You can also use flexi rubber boot fittings to connect onto the inlet of the valve.
All there was on the 2 that I got were flexi rubber boot reducers holding the slide valves onto the inlets.
Maybe you should put a photo of it on here so it's easier to give you options of how to attach it?

More people on here have the standard Eazy Pod and have it pump or gravity fed.
Pump fed is 1.5" or 2" in and 3" or 4" out.
Gravity fed is 3" or 4" in and 1.5" or 2" out.
The standard versions can be converted to run pump or gravity fed as often as you like as the inlet and outlet are basically the same size which is 3"

It comes with a Male thread one end and female thread the other. One end takes the provided tail the other is suppose to screw into the pod but you cant without dismantling the valve

In that case there is possibly an NRV on the inlet? I'm only guessing as I've only seen the standard versions in the flesh and the other versions on websites.

I will install it this weekend minus the inlet slide valve since they dont think it's a requirement and see how it performs. I will run other established in pond filters in tandem until the pod matures. I will throw in the blagdon pond start powder and the EA pond bomb balls into the pod to speed up the cycle. At what point is it safe to remove the tandem filters and let the pod run on its own

OK just had a quick look at the EA site again. The Automatic versions are saying there is an NRV on the inlet but the Complete version is showing just a stepped hose tail on the inlet. Maybe the newest versions of the Complete also has an NRV on the inlet and EA haven't updated their instructions. Wouldn't be the first time that's happened
Just to make sure we are all thinking the same thing here.
The inlet is under the UVC, the outlet is the 3" pipe on the side at the bottom of the filter and the waste is the slide valve on the side very near the bottom of the filter and has a stepped hose tail attached to it.

Yep the waste has factory fitted slide valve, the inlet by the uv only has a tail and no valve even though I bought one separately but cant fit without taking it apart. I presume I dont need it
