    Retro fit bottom drain *update*

Well we ordered the aerated bottom drain and new pump and installed yesterday.
Wow very impressed! Need to change my air pump but even with my old one installed it is doing a great job on the bottom.
    Would highly recommend.

Sorry not any of before but this is after. Need to move my pump to the opposite corner so you wont see it and the pipes do much. I got mine from eco filtration on amazon. Will say its bigger than it looked in the photos.

Have to agree, I've recently upgrade from regular pump-in-cage to retro BD (with rubber air dome) plus Jebao variable 20.000 pump.

It is pulling out so much more crud from the pond bottom,

looks like this one RETRO BD 133a.jpg

£95 from last koi show at Detling in Sept.

    Blimey, that sounds expensive!

Thanks for the info. I will need to look at Nickuk's recent table of pump outputs. All I have at present is 3 x 40l.

Well I've just fitted the new pump 60lpm it was £69 from ebay a boy one. With the old pump it wasn't giving enough air to the bottom drain and I'd say 60% better than just pump but with the new one it is 100% spotless. Quite a lot of small bubbles though but hopefully the right amount if oxygen for the koi.
