Most ponds with waterfalls create bubbles but it could also be due to excess of dissolved organic compounds
What are your water parameters like?4600 Gallon Concrete Block and Fiberglass
2100 mm x 710 mm Infinity Window 32mm thick glass
2 x Aerated Bottom Drains and Skimmer
Filtreau HiFlow 30 Drum Filter
Bio Chamber - 140 litres K1
Bakki Shower - 30 KG Sakura Far Infrared Media
2 x 18,000 lh pumps
Heated from house boiler through a heat exchanger

Hi Steve .
I`d definitely check your water perameters , as foam can be caused by high protein levels , which can relate to ammonia and nitrite . Also , low oxygen levels can cause this , so might be worth adding extra air .
Do you have a skimmer ? This will clear it , although wont fix the root cause !Colin

Thanks Hippo
i have slight nitrate and ammonia , all else looks well .
i don’t have a skimmer but I do have 5 air pipes running to it , I will add a sixth when I get my aerated retro drain going .
can you advise a cure ?

Id say try and get your ammonia and nitrite as low as possible to start with . What filters are you running ? Could be your bio hasn't properly kicked in yet with the fluctuating temps .
Once your happy your getting the best out of your filters , you might want to look at fitting a skimmer . Either a wall mounted type , or a stand alone variety .
There are also anti foamimg treatments you can buy , which are supposed to be harmless (not sure if anyone on here uses them ) , but I think it would be a last resort , as its masking the problem , really , and you`ll have to keep forking out for more !Colin

Thanks Hippo
i have a nexus 220 runnin* from a 8000l hozelok Aquaforce (I think) ,through a tmc 55w UV .
nt labs says get some zeolite chunks to treat the ammonia , the rest should solve auto.

The age of your pond is also a factor.
In the first 2 years ponds go through some weird stages that make you panic, then after a couple of weeks of head scratching it just goes away as quickly as it came.

morning all
i've got come foam control from NT labs , get that in today hopefully, its pissing down out there
i've also got some Zeolite media so get that in also .
Questions.
Can i both in at the same time .
How do you put the Zeolite in , i've tried googling but doesn't say, do i just place it in the filter or need to bag it up .
ps - the foam is getting worse .

Spawning? If not, the solution to pollution is dilution.
Change some water out mate and see if it eases

Nothing to add to the already good suggestions, but white foam on the pond surface is not unusual:

As has been said above, a protein skimmer would be my first attempt at resolving it.

I have some foam on my water at the moment.
i think it’s probably because the weather has chilled and cooled the pond and I’m still feeding high protein food.
you may not be over feeding them but some of the protein won’t be absorbed, I should really go back to the lower protein food but it will warm up again so put up with it.
i do intend on getting a protein skimmer great bits of kit waiting for mr big to give me his, I’m sure there isn’t a need with an anoxic filter

lol you’d think not but mine is bubbling like a goodun.
My little tiddlers I put in a while back are piling on the ounces...you can practically see them growing before your eyes lol.
Only the odd flash now Si, going to scrape at the weekend.

Have 11 in there for now Fred, the filter seems to be working ok, all water parameters are fine. Will wait and see what’s happening with our move now as our house is up for sale so a bit pointless adding more. 2 viewings booked for today
I’m still changing a bit of water as not brave enough to stop quite yet lol.
