Question Advantage bead filter - anyone on here using one??

As per title, and just for general interest really (my own yes), Is anyone on here using one of the sacramento Koi advantage bead filters out of curiosity??

If so i'm intrerested in your thoughts on it, how well it performs, how happy you are with it, cost to run etc!?

Part of the reason i'm asking is that one came up on Fleabay last week, and whilst it was a pretty battered example that was missing parts, it did just make me wonder if anyone over in the Uk has imported/ is still using one and what they think to it.

Always quite liked the looks of them, and i know they're classed as the "rolls royce" of bead filters.

Sniffing round the idea of maybe resurrecting my pond that is currently sat empty and unloved at the moment, and i'm looking at what's about (pre owned) filter wise to get an idea of what's what.

    I have 2.

The monster big one and the little baby one. I am very impressed they work well but I did need a new tank penetrator and it had to come from the states as there are no UK outlets so this involved international postage and VAT one fitting seemed to cost a fortune.

I can't see me every buying a new one but I got both mine on eBay for just a few hundred quid as opposed to thousands.

Cheers for that!Advantage bead filter - anyone on here using one??

eBay would probably be where I’d try & pick one up if I get one, but not a knackered one like the one that popped up recently with no multiport head.

Have you got just the filters btw, or do you have the “plug & play” setup that comes with the mounting pad, electrical tower, uv & pump!??

Yes it was UK eBay I just kept my eye out for one close enough and the right price. Mine are the just the filter so I did all the plumbing myself, only because that's what came up but I think either would be fine.
