Colin,
I've just ordered some 400s for you and some 100s for me as I feel lucky LOL
They aren't the ones I currently use but may be a better fit as they have a 4" ring on the opening of them.
Will let the 200s do their job then maybe risk the 100s later in the summer
Well I'm only risking the 100s as I trust the overflow / bypass system

Cheers Frim
This is where i'm at the moment i was using CT1 to block some aluminium pipe i bent into a semi circle. to stop it filling with water and muck i then put this inside one of the 200 micro bags. The idea behind this was hopefully to let the muck spread more evenly around the bag and prolong it getting clogged up so quickly but no joy i'm changing the bags roughly every 6 hours. So this means taking them out before going to bed i just don't trust the overflow system fully yet .
Maybe the answer is 400 bags or a combination of both
Cheers Colin

What I am planning to do is fit a length of 3" pressure pipe into the outlet of the slide valve and drill some holes along it to spread the flow over the socks and also to hold the socks out straight which should be a double whammy style advantage

If you are anything like me, you will be spending the next few days trying to get the CT1 off your hands and arms etc
The 400s I bought last year are a bit more sold so they hold themselves out reasonably until it gets a bit windy and that's why I am going with the 3" pipe inside the sock.

Hi, Frim, now this may be a bit of a rambling post, but something just occured to me
After a long time of reading/lurking on this site, I've noticed that not many people have a great love for EA, especially their CS, but a lot of people are using the Eazy Pod, as are you.
The following is said with all respect due to a SUPREME CHAMPION from a 60yr old FRY, and I may be totally wrong with my mesh sizing, but if you are catching crud in a 400micron sock at the end of your filteration, is that a good recomendation for the Eazy Pod ?
As I understand it, a preliminary sieve catches crud at approx 300micron and a drum at approx 50-70micron, so how is the acclaimed Eazy Pod passing such large particles as 400micron ?
It just doesn't seem that good to little old me !
Or am I missing something totally obvious to everyone else ?
Don't take too long faffing with this, (unless I missed the big announcement), you have that notorious QT to finish ! It seems to somehow get a mention in all the threads I read

Don't let the sparkly badge fool you lol
OK about the Eazy Pod question.
They are basically a sieve with the addition of a small bio capability so they tend to be used on smaller ponds as a main filter or as a replacement for a sieve on bigger ponds and quite often for the same purpose on a skimmer system.
The version of the K1 media you have in it does make a bit of a difference to how much muck it removes from the water. Standard K1 on it's own only tends to catch the medium to larger muck unless you compress the media and then it catches slightly more of the smaller stuff. Micro K1 I think catches more than non compression standard K1 and I think if you then compress the Micro K1 it will catch even smaller stuff.
Eazy Pods have always been notoriously bad with not being capable of removing the really small stuff referred to as fines unless you modify them or add something else to help them in that respect. A filter sock in my case.
A drum is capable of running a very fine mesh as they wash automatically which most normal filters can't do in the same way. Not having a drum myself I don't know a great deal about them so maybe others can fill in the blanks if you like.
Yes the running QT jokes are on loads of threads both related and unrelated and I just go with the flow most of the time lol unlike my QT system before anyone else gets in there first
It's having time, space and the money to get on the case and finish it. It's not that far off just a few little bits and pieces.
Hope that answers some of your questions?

Clear as crystal Frim. It was me getting confused with the much larger Nexus, same company, looks similar . I was expecting a lot more from such a big beast !
Now I understand that the smaller EazyPod is just a circular vortex with a central static bed.
We learn something new every day !
Keep up the good work of teaching us lowly fry, and the light hearted banter with the lads, (and Anne), although it does make it long winded sometimes to get to the point of a thread

I wouldn't go that far lol
The Eazy Pod is basically the middle section of the bigger Nexus filters. The bit that can be replaced with a drop in Draco? drum.

I think I may have found why the filter socks aren't blocking very quickly.
The side walls of the pond have got a reasonable amount of blanket weed on them which I think could be acting like a sieve as it could be starting to grow around the pump? It's difficult to see the pump at the moment. So I put in a dose of Aquasource Resolve last night. To try to give it the best chance, I bypassed the filter sock and the protein skimmer and lifted the compression disc off the K1 in the Eazy Pod.
The water didn't go cloudy last night and still hasn't this morning but I don't remember it going cloudy on previous years only the first dose on the first year I used it.
I have been getting a bit of blanket weed in the Eazy Pod the last couple of times I have cleaned it and also the last couple of days there is more and more thicker foam in the wall mounted skimmer basket so thought it was time to give it a go.
Anyway it will probably be a couple of days before I know what is happening so thought as I've not got anything booked in for today, last night was a good time to go for it as I'll have today and then the whole weekend to keep an eye on it

Colin,
I got the filter socks a day or two ago and am trying to work out how they will fit my system as the 4" rings won't fit over 3" pressure pipe!! They might fit over 3" waste pipe so I'm just having a rethink on how they can be attached. Once I've got it sorted I'll send you at least a 400 micron over but you might be getting all 4 of them lol
