I was just going to ask if you had any photos lol.

So the plan with mine so far is water will come from bottom drain to a 850mm diameter settlement tank. That will have the answer sat in. I've got a 1600mm x 1000mm x 1000mm fiberglass tank that will be used as the anoxic filter. But think ill need somthing between them unless I could have the sock on the 4" inlet of the anoxic tank ??

I think I've found a photo that shows the entire bypass and filter sock system but it is only on my phone at the moment. I will get it transferred to the laptop and then I can stick it on here for you tomorrow hopefully.

OK finally I have sorted the photo out

    2020-04-22 09.01.00.jpg

Not the best photo but it does basically show the T with the 45 then a 90 for the overflow bypass system.

What's fitted to the 90 was a reducer then a drilled out 3" pipe but I think I have currently got a bit of 4" pipe over the 3" pipe acting as a kind of silencer. The drawing shows the old version without the 4" pipe.

When I had the silencer attached to the directly to the outlet of the Eazy Pod before I fitted the overflow bypass system it worked a treat but now it's only on the overflow bypass system it is only quiet when the water is flowing through it as the straight through section of the T now has a slide valve a filter sock on it and as the sock starts to block the water tends to come out in a longer line along the sock acting a little bit like a water blade. It's a bit noisy as you can imagine but all the neighbours that I've spoken to about it say they like the sound of the splashing water and some deliberately open their windows to hear it in the evening

I wonder who will notice the invisible mend on the net

I keep meaning to replace the net and have got a black one already to go but I am thinking about putting 2 x 45s between the T and the Eazy Pod then replacing the T with a Y (well it's more of a branched T) and then the slide valve and overflow bypass system off of that so it keeps it closer to the edge of the pond? so may need to have a rejig of the way the frame work for the net gets altered to allow for the pipe work to and from the pond?

Don't remember why I went for green originally unless I thought as the walls grow blanket weed or what ever they will go green apparently a black net disappears against the surface colour of the water?

Talk about a watched pot never boils lol

Normally the 400 micron sock needs replacing and cleaning every 2 to 4 days and sometimes it will last a week but since I received the 200 micron socks it hasn't needed swapping for what appears to be 11 days according to the diary. Surely that can't be right I think I might have swapped it a few days ago and forgotten to make a note of it

Hopefully I will swap to the 200 micron sock later today or tomorrow and see how it goes.

    Thanks Colin

Ok quick update, swapped the 400 micron filter sock for a 200 micron filter sock late afternoon so will see what happens. So far not much is being collected but the same applied to the 400 as that took ages to get anywhere near dirty and only changed them to remove the muck before it started to go bad

I need to fit some 3" pressure pipe to hold the new sock out straight as the 400s were a bit more bulky and kept their shape unless it was windy

Was going to drill 20 or 25mm holes in the pipe to spread the water along the sock a bit more which I was thinking about doing for the 400s anyway

Checked the sock this morning at around 8 am and it's definitely collecting some muck

2 days now after fitting, you should have noticed a BIG change in clarity from 400 down to 200 Frim. Or are they being a PITA and getting blocked up really quickly ?

  25. #59
Lol that's what I was thinking but strangely enough I haven't had to swap the 200 over yet and as for the clarity, I am not sure but I have noticed that I am starting to get blanket weed on the sides, in the skimmer basket, in the multi cyclone filter and in the Eazy Pod, so maybe that is acting as an extra filter in some way if that makes sense lol

I think I need to put in some Aquasource Resolve in the next day or so but I want to be around for the day I put it in just incase something happens.

There is a bit of a build up in the filter sock but maybe it will do the same thing as the 400s did, they lasted for ages the first time before they blocked enough to need cleaning and then the cleaning times got closer together. As I think I could only wash out a certain amount of the muck but there was the smaller stuff that I couldn't see that was slowly causing the socks to block faster and faster although the last time I swapped the 400 and went to the 200 it was a surprisingly larger time gap. As maybe my theory about the blanket weed is correct lol
