    Pond vac

Am I best to pay for the oase pondovac rather than a cheaper version?

I bought a oase pondvac 5 last year
Stunning piece of kit , bit overkill for me but I had two cheap ones in the past
Wanted constant running unlike the cheap ones that shut off to empty
The 5 pumps to waste I think the 4 is constantly running as well but gravity waste
I found out like most things in life if it’s easy to do then you are more likely to do it regular
I used to dread doing the job with my old vac

I think I will have to go for the 4 simply on price. Thanks for the info.

Yes mine is the the four, works fine.
the only pain is if you have blanket week etc the can get stuck in the two flaps stopping them from closing as on chamber drains and one fills,
but still a big improvement over the single chamber.
does the 5 still have this problem?

I would rather a small annoyance than £300 more at the moment! Need to order my poly carb covers which is coming in around £350.

Don't forget the for sale section on here Rapleyr…………..some bargains to be had at times .
And ebay of course, seem to be a few people giving up the hobby and selling equipment lately

Yes checked on here and eBay and nothing. There is one on FB and not too far away but it is advertised as ‘used once’ which puts me off.....not sure why!!!

How do these work with a raised pond then?
Also, do you still “need” one with a bottom drain?
The bottom of my pond has for a fair amount of junk even with plenty of flow.

I have a bottom drain but still getting some stuff on the bottom so want to address that. I assume no issue with a raised pond....can anyone confirm as I too have a raised pond. It says they can go down over 2 meters so I did t think it would be an issue

My pond vac is the cheapest one. Single chamber. Pond is 7 feet deep. 6 foot of water. And that works great. At that depth.

Admittedly it stops and starts. To empty.
    But still does a job.

I have two bottom drains, just over six foot deep, raised pond.
I hoover now as I sort the pond for summer and a couple of times through summer when I can see a build up of muc-weed etc, then a good clean going into winter.
i also hoover the drum out periodically.
    the vac works fine
