I’ve got a cheapo 20k variable speed pump from coastal koi on my protein skimmer and it’s working great. Very low wattage.
Only been in a month so I’d reserve judgement until it’s been on there a year but so far, so good.

I use Blue Eco on my show pond (however they are expensive).

I used DM and EA on my sales ponds / vats and personally prefer the EA as the DM can only dial down to 33%. Both similar price and very competitive from me

Whats happened there ? I’ve had good experiences with the EA pumps and have sold a good number to customers without issue. Can’t say the same for their UVs though

that’s true, I’m being unfair as I’ve never used their pumps, only air pumps - which were decent. The uv however was awful and never again...

I've got two Blue Eco's and they are super quality pumps, but expensive. They've been running for 7 years now good as gold.

The outlay is worth the peace of mind IMHO.

Its true I don't worry about them, and like all variable ones, the ability to dial them up and down per season is great.

It would just be nice if EA actually tested things before selling them, ive tried 2 of the auto feeders that both decided to empty most of the food in the water

I've been using the Aqua Forte DM Vario 1000 pump for about 7 months now and has worked perfectly even though it is set on its lowest speed @ 28 watts, and as a added bonus it's saving money on my energy costs per month
