Which hose pipes to avoid
I read on a few comments on YouTube a while ago about certain hose pipes to stay away from when carrying out water changes on ponds. Any info on this would be appreciated. From what I remember it was something to do with sitting water and the hose leaving traces of something in the water.... very vague but that all I remember. Cheers guys

Search the site for “hose pipe”
It’ll come up, I can’t work out how to post links from Tapatalk but it’s labelled something like “advice about which hose to use”.
Has Frim and Feline discussing MDPE etc.

That’s what I did but I’m sure a standard forum search will reveal the same results. FWIW i searched in posts as opposed to titles.

in an ideal world i'd have an mdpe connection to my filter room.
but ended up using a hose as a short term measure, connected to my RO filter for pond top ups and water changes.
and even though RO would filter out most of the toxins from a standard green/yellow garden hose, (that can contain phthalate, heavy metals like lead, and other chemical toxins.)
it's a hozelock 'ultra max' hose that is multi layered and free from phthalate and toxic contaminants due to the inner core liner.
