    Amalgam uv

Hi Everyone/ How robust are the Amalgam uv? Next year I will be building my next pond, but until then I was thinking of buying my first Amalgam uv and use it on my current pond. But the only place I can fit it is in the pipe from the bottom drain which is then fed into a vortex. Would that be ok? Thankyou!

They are robust, but are designed to have the electrical connection end outside of the water so fitting inside a pipe would be very difficult to achieve unless the pipe came up above water level.

I had a similar situation. I had a temporary filter running while I finished building my drum. I put some extra sealer round Amalgam cable connection and it ran submerged in the filter tank for 3 months with no problems.
