Proud owner of a new Queni QK22 drum

Well today I took a trip upto Queni koi and I have to say a great place, great people and great fish. Turned up offered a coffee soon as worked in, had a great chat and shown a QK22 drum working on his own ponds. Chatted about many things and also shown around all his quarantine tanks. Here are some pics taken of my drum at home.IMG_0905.JPGIMG_0904.JPGIMG_0906.JPGIMG_0903.JPGIMG_0902.JPGIMG_0901.JPGIMG_0899.JPGIMG_0898.JPGIMG_0900.JPG

Haha very good point I would like to say soon but then you could say maybe next year some time lol. Going to get all the fittings I need first then have to make up a frame to sit it on. Hope it won't be to far away

Lol I will wait in anticipation for the upgrade to begin!
So what is the drum rated at flow wise? And how much flow do you intend on pulling through it?
Judging by the name I guess it’s about 22000ltr per hour?

Yes it sure is 22,000L I'm only going to pump 15,000 though it to start with. I have been told when you you run a K1 chamber to not put the water though the K1 chamber to quick. Is this right

I will keep running the bead for now when it's set up and then in time buy a K1 chamber

That would depend on how big the K1 chamber is.
I pull around 11000ltr/hr through my 500ltr K1 chamber which is gravity fed from the drum.
On the second outlet from the drum I pump 12000ltr/hr over the shower.

Oh good idea so your pulling about 23,000 though drum. So does the 11,000 go straight back to pond and only 12,000 over shower

    Mark

With my drum I pull 8000 litres threw 125 litres of K1
Then 17000 litres from clean side of dum over shower with 60kg of BHM

Dont forget 4 inc pipe is only good for approx 14 / 15000 litres per hour, so you would ideally need two bottom drains or one bottom drain and possibly a three inc skimmer line going into the drum to achieve its full potential

    cheers
    Andy
