Very busy still, but are are now seeing signs of the year's early season production coming together. If the Opaline pond sticks, and the LMC eggs that are hatching right now, deliver a decent yield; then we are on for a good start to the production cycle this year. And we hope to see many of you next weekend at our stand at the BKKS National Koi Show.
Will you make making the trip to northeast show adam or is it a bit far and a little on the small side ??

It's quite difficult to take any days off fish farming between Apr and Oct, and we try to support the shows as best we can and we do the National and both All England shows. That's already 9 working days spent not fish farming which is quite a lot in our limited summer. I would like to support some of the medium sized shows but adding any more shows would take us away from the farm for too long.

After another successful BKKS National Koi Show, we've been flat out harvesting and spawning, and more harvesting and moving ake nisai around, and also moving new Kohaku 10 month old stock into the sales room too.

A few new blog posts for your perusal:

    https://www.byerkoifarm.co.uk/blogs/blog/ake-nisai
(This one includes a link to Liam's brilliant showa video reel from our showa selections back in April - well worth a look, and links really well with the article in his first edition 'World Of Nishikigoi' magazine too.

we can definitely help with those ! Thank you for your interest .

spring tosai release is usually early April and we open up the appointments diary around a month before release. Appointments can be in person or via the phone. So we are quite flexible.

Did a video call on this year's release. 2 shiros and a chag and couldn't be happier with them . So I'll definitely be putting my name down on a ochiba , kohaku and would love a cha Utsuri if any more turn up !

Bank account allowing mate definitely. Had koi from all over now . And as for UK breeders I've had cuttlebrooks, new forest and I feel to me and my very untrained opinion byers are the best in UK bred koi and will be my main dealer for a long time to come I hope .

Although I do want a shinoda hi Utsuri

    Thank you !

On hi utsuri.... if you can wait another year we might be able to supply you with something along those lines :-) We produce them in small numbers currently, but they are on the list to go large on. If all goes well with 2023 spawnings, first hi utsuri tosai harvest would be spring '24. We'd be using top Japanese lines ofcourse, based around Shinoda.

We produced some doitsu ochiba by accident from a doitsu karashigoi spawning in '21. They were interesting enough to make us look at investing in new brood stock in doitsu ochiba to and we brought them in last winter. the doitsu ochiba's we have coming through now are the result of that process and are looking promising! thank you for noticing them :-)
