Absolute Koi left me high and dry econobead eb50 damaged bypass pipes
With a heavy heart and many months ive got no option but to name and shame a business that i had used alot and never had a problem untill early summer. 2019
i ordered a econobead eb50 bypass pipe work (new)
on arrival it was damaged - no broken pieces inside the box so I assume it was broken at their premises or at factory and never spotted
ive tried many times via phone and email to resolve the issue with absolute koi who sadly have blanked me from the start. and never offered a refund nor replacement at the beginning they said they would find out from their supplier that was the last thing they said.
my last message went to Darren and fell on complete deaf ears .
I will never buy from them again and advise anyone to seriously consider buying else where or buy at your own risk .

Out of character for Darren. Hes usually very good .Its such an easy fix that im shocked he didnt just sort it on your first communication .At work, weve found if theres a problem, address it straight away and the customer is happy and we are happy..Somebody knew it was broken before packing it.Thats just wrong to send it out .I hope you get sorted .Maybe Darren will read this and act accordingly

Think that is disgraceful on their part, surely they cant have missed that when packing.
A number of years ago I rang them twice over buying a product on their website,a lady answered the phone and put me through to Darren who had no time for me whatsoever and dismissed me saying order it through their website as he was too busy.
Needless to say I have never used them since,I know a lot on here swear by them but I have kept quiet till now.
Surely it is down to the sellers to be responsible for their products,I wouldn't let that go mate.John

erm distance selling rules apply,he has by law to replace or refund,,,been once and after asking how much a 3-4" yamabuki was and getting told £70 the wife dragged us out, that was the only interaction we had, think they saw my old peugeot 306 diesel and thought i had no cash, pity as we went to next place on our days tour of dealers and spent £300 lol,,,,,,andi

Thanks for the messages of support guys, ive been very reluctant to name and shame absolute Koi until now because i was expecting possibly a backlash from their faithful customers, appears then just from the few messages above they aint all that inspite of have one of the best koi websites going by far in my opinion .
i have last week actually repaired it myself with a white solvent weld connect which is identical but took a fair bit of skilled work with a dremel tool to grind off the old one without touching the pipe inside round off and smooth as best i could and solvent weld a new connector on .
approx 1 week later it works perfectly no leaks and feels very solid
its a real shame i had to name and shame as a passionate koi keeper myself if i ran a business i would never ever do this to a customer and i would serve all customers the same regardless of how deep their pockets are

Feel for you Markini as it must be hard to name a dealer so worthy as Absolute and you may not use them again.
Though I do think you did the correct thing as you have a very good cause for doing so and that is one of the reasons I never mentioned my bad experience till now.
I know a lot on here praise them and maybe they have a good reason to do so but, not all of us.
Glad you have at least sorted it to work for you,but if it was me I would be sending another stern email !!!John

Exactly I think smaller quality koi are more bread and butter for dealers, don't get me wrong I have bought expensive koi and wouldn't buy crap either but it's nice to be acknowledged when you go to a koi outlet , It was a 3 1/2 hour drive for me and I would never go there again , and it's totally unacceptable to ignore a customer if you have sold faulty goods to them, I would have gone to the shop and discussed it face to face, people like that just have no manners

I made the mistake of ordering some bits from Absolute Koi a little while ago and it took ages to turn up so won't be using them again and also they don't show you how much P&P you have to pay. The only way you can work it out is how much they charge you on your credit card and how much the total was when you ordered it which is wrong. This current issue you have had Markini is just going to force more people to stop using them hopefully. Just need to be careful as they are linked to at least 3 other businesses so you could still be buying from the without realising it until something goes wrong and their shit customer services exposes them again.

As a business owner myself I know it can take ages to build up a good reputation but takes very little time to loose it.

Thing is its takes hardly any effort to do whats right, in my case they couldn't give a monkey's I will contact their supplier/manufacturer if I can find out exactly who to contact they will not take kindly to their good name being dragged through the mud because absolute koi couldn't be bothered to look after all their customers and from others say it seems they have form I did give them a warning in my last message which was over a month ago and I had no reply.

I don't know Darren and i've never met him. I've only had brief phone calls with him and also emails. Ordered from Absolute half a dozen times. Only once was there a problem (with the courier) and Darren went out of his way to remedy it.
I do know that he has been in Japan until recently. Just saying. They have had somebody there replying to email while he was away.

I posted a similar story a couple of years back. I had a uv light that I had bought from them satisfactorily but then I ordered a replacement bulb. When it arrived it was literally sandwiched between two bits if cardboard and wrapped in tape and unsurprisingly , in two pieces. Not only that it was the wrong bulb. Multiple calls and emails came to nothing and I just gave up and vowed never to use them again.

After listening to these stories,i wonder if everything is ordered through a third party and Darren never has the product in his shop.

He wasn't in japan when I visited his shop, Just rude I'm not saying everyone shouldn't use him, I don't think anyone's trying to destroy the man's business or anything, I think people are Just looking out for eachouther, if I visit a dealer and it's good experience I will say so the same as if it's bad, but from all the similar stories it carnt just be a coincidence , and these come from a small number of koi keepers on this forum, I have no doubt there's a few more out there who are not on this site with similar story's, Just my opinion tho

ive ordered loads of stuff from what i call my local koi place, even though its 40 mile away lol,and some of that has come direct from wholesalers, but not arrived damaged, and if it did i know it would get sorted, derren is legally responsible for refund or replacement as it was purchased through him, thats what the distance selling rule is all about,he should think about the damage caused to his reputation,,,,,,andi oh by the way my local is KITSU KOI and theyre FANTASTIC lol
