Treating pond safely with Diamondback Sturgeon
Hi All, I'm pleased to say my 2 Sturgeon look to be thriving in my pond but I have 2 pond issues I need to address.
Blanket weed is starting to grow, I have read that Aqua Source treatment is fine for use with the Sturgeon and am looking to double check I am taking the right approach?
I have a poorly Koi, he has a bulge on one side and what was a small black spot on his top side that has turned into a small scar, it looks like he may have had a peck from a Heron at a guess. I have tried to speak to a couple of people and have had suggested I treat the pond for bacteria. I am a novice and never treated the pond with anything other than blanketweed before, I am a little concerned I use anything that will harm both Koi and Sturgeon.
I also do not have a prize winning pond or Koi, it is shared with various goldfish & carp and some plant life.
If it helps I recently took over 20 frogs out of the pond as they were trying to ride the fish, most notable the sturgeon as they are always on the bottom and my skimmer has been collecting some sort of eggs, small black dots in clear jelly and sometimes within the jelly very tiny worms. I realise pictures would be helpful so will take some the next time I see this, if at all.
Thanks for any help.

hi mark, aqua source blanketweed resolve is sturgeon safe, as for adding bacteria or any chemicals you need to find out what you are dealing with first, you need to get a good look at the poorly koi and post some pics, the eggs sound like frog/toad spawn,

20210412_150230.jpgI tried to get a decent photo of the 2 Sturgeon at the weekend but the reflections on the pond make it really difficult, here's one, terrible quality but at least it's a pic of the little chap.

Gaz, Do you have a larger size? I put the majority of the 1kg tub in and just over a week later its done a good job but the worst area is under my waterfall and it's still got a good covering of blanketweed. I have around 30,000 litres and I held a little back as I was nervous about affecting the sturgeon as one of them just seems to spend his whole day sat under the waterfall on the weed.
I can order another 1kg but I suspect I will need to use more.
Thanks
