Thread: 4040 membrane cleaning

Can’t anyone suggest what products to use for cleaning 4040 membranes? Would like to get More life out of the membranes and been told it’s possible.

apart from regular timed flushing every hour or so in use.

depends what it's fouled with...
if mainswater probably limescale, if RRO probably organics...or both
afaik commercially they use a flushing set up with very acidic and very alkaline chemicals.
both pretty nasty.

how are you running the RO?
in RRO they typically only last a year if your lucky, due to organic contamination and low rejection rates.
if mains water should last years as long as they are not run with low rejection rates and regular timed flushing.
